Who are the 5 million Ugandans that voted for Museveni again after 26yrs in power? I’m sure his total number of votes will hit over 7 to 8 million at the end. Are the voters not same Ugandans crying all over the media for help?
Rigged? Even if he did, not with such wide margin. He was actually voted for by human beings. Why didn’t they vote for Bobi Wine a vibrant and knowledgeable youth?
Ugandans don’t want to be freed from the bondage they’re in right now. Maybe, they’re okay with it.
Beginning in 1894, Uganda was ruled as a protectorate by the UK, which established administrative law across the territory. Uganda gained independence from the UK on 9 October 1962. The period since then has been marked by violent conflicts, including an eight-year-long military dictatorship led by Idi Amin.
Uganda’s current president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who took power in January 1986 after a protracted six-year guerrilla war. Following constitutional amendments that removed term limits for the president, he was able to stand and was elected president of Uganda in the 2011 and in the 2016 general elections.
Museveni is both head of state and head of government. He appoint anyone he like as vice and minister to aid him in governing, and can sack his appointees at anytime.
Transparency International has rated Uganda’s public sector as one of the most corrupt in the world.
For the second time, why didn’t Ugandans vote for Bobi Wine a vibrant and knowledgeable youth if at all, they wanna be liberated?
